Hmm

Apparently, people are controlled by their television. The show "The Office" had someone on there using wikipedia and now wikipedia has had to stop new people from entering content. Masses of people flocked to the site to add their decidedly less than two cents on what they will. I personally think it's pathetic that people are now travelling to wikipedia just because it was on a television show.

amazing how powerful the media is huh? we really must teach kids how to critique the media in high schools, as early as middle school!! they are bombarded with all sorts of stuff and it is almost always because someone is selling something...but people in general are just very impressionable and i think teachers are the some of the only people that might be able to get through to kids to get them to think for themselves--teach them to THINK critically abot everything they read--we take for granted that the media is something that needs to be read too because it is seeping into our psyche thru bits and pieces, almost thru osmosis the way it is everywhere...we can't just teach kids how to critically analyze classic literature--is that what kids are reading these days? no way! they must learn to critically examine MEDIA.

Okay I'll step down off my high horse now...thanks for letting me rant on your blog. LOL but hey that just means i will come back here again because your post sparked something in me and sent me into a tailspin.
